URC Automation now integrates with Flo for water monitoring and remote shutoff

Offering its customers peace of mind, URC Automation has launched a two-way integration module between its Total Control smart automation and control system and the Flo Smart Water Shutoff.

Homeowners can now control the Flo Smart Water Shutoff from any URC Total Control user interface, allowing two-way communication between the systems.

The Flo Smart Water Shutoff is a leak detection and water monitoring device from Flo and is installed on the main water supply line. The device then continuously and proactively monitors the home’s water pressure, flow rate and temperature to prevent any leaks or water damage.

Two-way communication between URC's Total Control platform and Flo gives homeowners reassurance over any water damage or leaks in their home.

Flo also features its proprietary MicroLeak technology, allowing the device to run daily health tests to identify any leak within the pipes. If a leak is detected, the homeowner will receive a pop-up alert message on all URC Total Control user interfaces in the house. The homeowner can then choose to shut the water off to the house via the Total Control touchscreens or the smartphone app.

“We’re excited to add integration of the Flo Smart Water Shutoff to our portfolio of integration partners for our Total Control smart automation and control system,” said Lars Granoe, vice president of product development for URC.

“URC is a leader in the home automation and this two-way integration provides active protection of the consumer’s biggest investment.”
